Roland Emmerich, Partner
Roland Emmerich began his career in his native Germany. He studied film at the Munich Film School and his student thesis THE NOAH'S ARK PRINCIPLE went on to compete in the 1984 Berlin Film Festival. This feature film became a success and was sold to more than 20 countries. Roland subsequently formed his own production company, Centropolis Film Productions, and under its aegis produced and directed MAKING CONTACT (A.K.A JOEY), GHOST CHASE and MOON 44. Roland's first U.S. film was the 1992 hit UNIVERSAL SOLDIER, which was followed by STARGATE in 1994. INDEPENDENCE DAY in 1996, his biggest success to date established him as one of Hollywood's top directors. His next feature GODZILLA followed two years later and in 2000 Roland Emmerich directed and executive produced THE PATRIOT, which starred Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger. Roland's 2004 box office success was THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW featuring Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhal. In 2007, Roland Emmerich produced the film TRADE, a gripping drama about human trafficking in Mexico and the U.S. His most recent box office success was 2012 featuring John Cusack and Amanda Peet.


Ute Emmerich, Partner
Ute Emmerich serves as partner of Centropolis Entertainment along with her brother Roland Emmerich. She most recently served as executive producer on THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, THE PATRIOT and 2012. Ute also served as producer on THE THIRTEENTH FLOOR, executive producer on GODZILLA and INDEPENDENCE DAY and co-producer of Roland's science-fiction adventure STARGATE. She worked in a variety of capacities, from casting to business affairs, on his film MAKING CONTACT (A.K.A JOEY), and went on to associate produce his films GHOST CHASE, MOON 44 and EYE OF THE STORM and coordinate business affairs on UNIVERSAL SOLDIER. Born in Stuttgart, Germany, Ute studied economics and business for two years before moving into filmmaking. After working with Roland on his film MAKING CONTACT, she traveled to Los Angeles in order to broaden her horizons and begin her first job in Hollywood as an intern for famed director Roger Corman. Ute's most important production to date has been the birth of her son in 2005.
